My name is James Buchwalter and I am a graduate from Virginia Technical College in Birmingham, Alabama and currently have an Associates degree as an Internet Webmaster Technician. I am currently a certified CIW Associate. My Web designs, abstract art, and photography, both professional and amateur, are showcased throughout this Web site gallery. Within this site you will find a wide variety of projects that I have worked on during my learning process as an up and coming Web Designer. This site has fully functional Web sites that were designed for both real and non-existent clients. It also contains Photoshop graphic designs, animated Flash movies and several photo galleries. But first, a little more background on me.

In 1998 I was close to being computer illiterate. I quickly began to realize the popularity of the Internet and computers in general and all the opportunities that they presented. I knew then, that pursuing a career in the field of computers was something that I was interested in. I began to learn by way of books and friends who were willing to sit down with me and offer me their pearls of wisdom. I continued to teach myself up until the point when I felt like I needed professional instruction so that I could move to the next level. I looked into all career fields that involved computers. I liked the idea of learning to fix the internal parts of computers but there was no creative side to repairs and servicing. As I expanded my search, I was exposed to the world of an Internet Webmaster.

Web design offered both the technical aspect of computer programming and the aspect of allowing for creativeness and imagination. I have always been a creative type of person and felt like I needed to find a career where I could utilize that creativity. I possessed some natural artistic talent but lacked something when it came down to getting something in my head onto a canvas. That's when I realized that I could use computer programs like Adobe Photoshop to make up for some of the raw natural artistic talent that I felt like I lacked. What a revelation! From that point on, it has felt like a landslide for me in the way of computers and all the resources of the Internet.
